Behaviour State Split

Finnish music is generally incredible.

when I was first deep in discovering forms of folk music,

it was obvious to me that Finns have made some of the purest:

vocal-only, fiddling, storytelling through song, joik, the Kalevala

there also are some wonderful modern freak-folk acts such as Ous Mal or Hannu

on the electronic side I of course knew about legends Pan Sonic and Vladislav Delay

(in fact AGF, the woman responsible for the engineering on my track Behaviour State,

lives with Delay on an island off the coast of Finland now)

but there also are some lesser known Finns making wonderful electronic music.

Jari Pitkänen is one, and I’ve been lucky to work with him as well.

another is Marko-V, who is the man behind the Salakapakka Sound System project

I long admired him and his work, and after over a year we began collaboration.

he sent me some noises that ended up as the base files for “Behaviour State” from my AGORA record

and now we’ve made an EP of remixes for that track, by emailing each other different versions

like playing a programmer’s game of telephone

there are now 8 versions of this track

and they available at the Free Music Archive
