1/9/12 – Scrape EP is released!

Scrape is an AGORA track that is close to my heart, yet it did not receive any remixes in time for my remix album, AGORA Regathered. now however, I present three new versions: a version “II” that I composed myself but never released, a remix by Jari Pitkänen and a remix by Anki Toner, also known as File Under Toner.
Marc Doudin has also remixed Belief, which is the only other track to not receive a remix in time for Regathered. I have also chosen a version of Behaviour State that I created for the split release with Salakapakka Sound System, but which was not released. this EP is only available as an mp3 download (zipped) from this site.

regathered release party

I had a release party for my remix album AGORA Regathered

the event was hosted by Dixon Place and featured DJ sets

by two of the remix artists, Twenty Knives & HeeG

mixers Dendrite & Lemosh also showed up

I felt an immense surge of gratitude to everyone who attended

my nest of collaborators, friends & listeners is what gives me the confidence

to keep pushing deeper into sound & beauty

after releasing my solo record AGORA earlier this year, on which AGF assisted in production, I decided to release a remix album, titled AGORA Regathered. Regathered features input from Scanner, Blevin Blectum, and Steinbrüchel among many others. over half a year was spent curating this material and the final collection of remixes was carefully cherry picked. I see these tracks as not simply remixes but essential extensions of the original ideas.

AGORA Regathered was a chance for me to expand on the initial concept of the AGORA record by gathering together diverse re-presentations of my work. I carefully chose mixers from widely different demographics, both notable and obscure, but all of whom are dear to my heart. this echoes the concept of the ancient agora, by uniting people from various backgrounds into a single moment.

as is reflected in the final outcome, their approaches varied, but after placing calls for several versions of each track on AGORA from a vast range of artists I deeply respect, I patiently selected the remixes that I felt best exemplified a natural extension of my original tracks. the result is a collection which takes my compositions to their core and magnifies their essence. this was an exciting and rewarding record to curate; I send endless thanks to everyone involved and especially to my listeners.

signal festival 2011

my time at signalfest this year was wonderful

having the opportunity to lecture as well as perform was flattering

I was extremely satisfied with the other artists at this festival; their work is inspiring!

I met with tomas phillips who also gave a nice lecture for the festival

I experienced a coincidence with dino felipe, who was in town to play nightlight for his own reasons

between the gates of my throat. Multicoloured
universes are strung piously along my finger
spaces. A lightsource glides playfully
into view at the vital moment. Drones approach
clumsily; as diluted fanfare, a choir is shoved
through the crooked palms of those seated.
