signal festival 2011

my time at signalfest this year was wonderful

having the opportunity to lecture as well as perform was flattering

I was extremely satisfied with the other artists at this festival; their work is inspiring!

I met with tomas phillips who also gave a nice lecture for the festival

I experienced a coincidence with dino felipe, who was in town to play nightlight for his own reasons

+++

audio was recorded from my set at nightlight club

I assembled a live EP from the performance:

some of the pieces I performed are forthcoming

on my next full-length, Airing

photo & video soon

+++

my lecture at UNC was on the voice within experimental & electronic music

it is available as an mp3 file here (102mb)

I played examples during my lecture: of agf, björk, myself, maja ratkje, mike patton

if you want a listening list to further explore experimental vocal artists, email me

+++

there is a lot of extra media I have not yet released

from other projects & events

I should start putting it out there

so here also are two short excerpts

from my interview with zack schuster for his blog:

1. the use of the dictaphone on my AGORA record

2. about improvised lyrics & song form
